Why Apply for POWERGRID Apprentice?

This is a golden opportunity for engineering and ITI candidates to get hands-on experience in one of India's largest Maharatna PSUs. The stipend is quite attractive, and the training will add immense value to your resume. Moreover, since there is no written exam, your merit in the qualifying exam will be the sole criterion. So, if you have good marks, your chances are bright.

Preparation Strategy

Since the selection is purely based on your qualifying marks, there is no specific exam preparation needed. However, you must ensure that all your documents are in order and your NAPS/NATS profile is 100% complete. Keep scanned copies of all certificates ready in the required format. Double-check your application before submitting, as multiple applications will be rejected.

Step-by-Step Application Guide

  1. Register on the relevant government portal first – NAPS (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) for ITI Electrician trade, or NATS (nats.education.gov.in) for Diploma/Graduate (Electrical or Civil) trades – and complete/update your profile with all required documents.
  2. Note down the NAPS/NATS registration/enrolment number generated after registration.
  3. Visit the official POWERGRID website – www.powergrid.in.
  4. Go to Careers → Engagement of Apprentices → Apply Online.
  5. Select your preferred region/state and trade, and fill in your personal, academic, and NAPS/NATS enrolment details accurately.
  6. Upload the required documents – photograph, signature, certificates, mark sheets, category/disability certificate (if applicable), and bank details.
  7. Review and submit the application – apply for only one region/state/trade, as multiple applications will be summarily rejected.
  8. Save/print the confirmation of your submitted application for future reference.
